The end of the year is near and surely many of us are finding ourselves in a period of reflection and analysis about the year 2016 and at the same time are making our predictions for 2017. It is in this sense that we will take a small step back in time.

In this first part, I want to say that it is a huge privilege for me to take you on this quick look back at the ten years of life of Instituto Exclusivo, and even more to review our activities in 2016. This business was created under the initiative of Anne Marie Van Swideen, a Dutch woman whose vision it was to open a language school which would give its students an exclusive and professional language learning service. Instituto Exclusivo opened its doors in approximately April 2006 with four Spanish teachers and a small number of students. Currently we have 32 teachers of different languages: Spanish, English, Aymara, Quechua, French, Dutch and German, five administrative staff who maintain the vision and ideas under which this institution was created, and more than one hundred students. It is in this way that throughout the last ten years, the idea that Anne Marie Van Swideen had has become a reality. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the people that have been a part of this amazing team: those that are not currently here but have left an unerasable mark and those that remain with us in the face of the good times and the hard times. Personally, I consider Instituto Exclusivo to be one big family.

In 2016, we had the pleasure to cooperate with many different corporate groups from many different institutions who always trusted in us, along with the many national and international students who have knocked at our door and left us with great memories. So we can say that 2016 was a year of renovation and learning. On the other hand, the plan for 2017 is to grow even more and to maintain our current achievements. For example, we act as an exam centre for DELE (Diploma in Spanish as a foreign language), are part of INTESOL Worldwide Group of Accredited Course Providers and prepare students for international exams such as TOEFL and Cambridge. Furthermore, we provide many varied cultural activities for the students, from preparing plates of food to going out and walking around different places in the city. This is only a small portion of what Instituto Exclusivo is and does.

For 2017 we have huge surprises on their way: courses, cultural activities, work on an online platform, publications etc. Come with us! Happy New Year!
